PHYSICS
===============================================================================
Because the speedway and normal road physics are so different, there are two
sets of physics in the mod. Before you run F1C, you need to decide which to
use, since there is no way to automatically tell F1C which physics to use. If
you are going to race in a speedway or super-speedway, run "CART Speedway.bat".
This will enable speedway wings and physics. If you are going to race on a road
course, street course or short oval, use "CART Road Course.bat". If you're not
sure which physics you selected, the cars in the menu will indicate it by the
wings displayed. If you are running a championship and complete a road course
and want to move on to a speedway, make sure you exit the game and select the
appropriate physics before continuing your championship.

KNOWN BUGS
===============================================================================
-Mirros in TV Cam have a strange black figure in the center
-Physics are based on 94-95 IndyCar physics from rF. Not perfect but work
-Pit crew overalls are all wrong, basic color sets included
-Barber Motorsports Park N/A for F1C: replaced with Laguna Seca
-Iowa Speedway N/A for F1C: replaced with Richmond Raceway
-AIW is terrible on many circuits, especially the ovals (Mostly for pits)
-Empty 2016 and 2017 season icons will appear in the season list (Coming soon)
***If anyone can help resolve one of these issues, please contact me

FINAL NOTE
===============================================================================
If you notice that your car is driving funny even though the right setup file
has been loaded for the specific track, it's probably due to the wrong physics
being loaded. Make sure before running the game, you select the correct physics
BAT file before loading your circuit. If you are unsure which physics to load,
look at the GDB file in the SeasonData folder. Tracks with //SS (Super Speedway)
and //SW (Speedway) after their names must use the CART Speedway.bat physics.
All other circuits, including ones with //SO (Short Oval) must use the CART
Road Course.bat physics. You cannot switch the physics with the game running.
If you would like to swap physics, you must exit F1C and select the appropriate
BAT file. For more info, refer to the PHYSICS section in this README.

SPECIAL THANKS TO VITOR SOUZA FOR MAKING THIS AWESOME MOD AND ALLOWING IT TO BE
CONVERTED FREELY. ALL CREDIT GOES TO HIM

INSTALLATION
===============================================================================
1) Delete any other 2018 IndyCar mods from F1C for this mod to work properly
2) Extract all files from IndyCar Series.exe to F1C installation
   directory
3) Wait for ICSSetup.bat to autorun (This will add driver names to game.dic)
4) Run the right CART bat file and enjoy the ride:
   CART Road Course.bat --> Street, road and short oval wings and physics
   CART Speedway.bat --> Speedway and super-speedway wings and physics

Has anyone tried this mod yet? Just curious on the feedback. If it's positive, I will continue to expand to the other seasons (94-95, 98, 16-17)

Hi David! Indycar looks really great, thank you for this work. Every season from every championship would be great I think)
But I have a problem with mod. I've got CTD trying to load both speedway and road cars. Physics files seems to be missed.

Oh no! I forgot to include the physics files. They are generic IndyCar physics that will be used across all seasons, but I forgot to include them in the 2018 package. Sorry folks, I’ll upload them ASAP. Thanks KonstantinBelovNE for pointing out this issue

Here's a link to the missing files. Just extract to the Vehicles folder:

I will include them in the main package very soon

Wow! Thanks for the conversion  .. I originally planned a version exclusively made for F1C, but gave up because of technical problems that almost prevented me from finishing the original version of rFactor and later decided to "retire" from F1C modding...

And, If you want, can convert my other Indycar mods (2015 and 2016-2017 v2) without problems.. Smile Big Grin

-Barber Motorsports Park N/A for F1C: replaced with Laguna Seca
-Iowa Speedway N/A for F1C: replaced with Richmond Raceway

I have those two tracks here.......

If you want to convert the CART 1998 mod as well, keep in mind I released this mod already a couple of years ago. Due to private circumstances (nothing to be worried about, my life simply changed) I wasn't able to fix the LED's on the cars' dashboards and steering wheels (as they weren't working). Also the cars only have the soft compound tire in the current release, I also had the intention in the next version to release the mod with seperate .gdb file per race (like F1 Seven did too with their 70's mod back in the day) because of car physics (for road/street courses, short ovals, speedways and superspeedways and so on) but sadly never was able to take the time to do so. I might ever continue modding (as I still would love to fix the current 1998 mod bugs and build 1999 till 2001 based on these car models too) and I also would love to do a finishing touch on my 1986-1987 F1 mods and still release them as well. Do I want this all seriously? Yes. Do I know when? No.

To come back about the 1998 CART mod, if you have time to fix the bugs and expand the mod the way I intended to, you absolutely have my permission to use my CART 1998 mod, it will also save you lots of time I think.

If you have different plans, just convert the 1998 CART mod the way you want, I will surely test it and see what similarities our mods have when it comes to gameplay. My CART 1998 mod also has accurate .gdb files with starting grids and mechanical failures, feel free to use these too if you want, that is also a big time saver.

Hi schumacher180,

Thanks for the proposal, however, I converted the mod a few years before you did and released your version... It's actually been sitting on my HD for a while. I plan to do some minor fixes to it and release it. I don't want to compete with your work though, so no disrespect intended mate.

Hi Vitor,

No way mate, thanks to you for doing it originally. The models are awesome. I do intend to expand it to include 2016 and 2017, but not 2015. As for the tracks, where are they?

Oh no, I obviously know there's no disrespect intended, I just wanted to tell you that my mod may have some stuff which might save you some time in releasing your version (like realistic track .gdb files, I know many mods don't have that anymore these days), I don't view this as a competition, the more versions we have per racing series (and respective season) the better, it gives people the chance to choose between versions. Smile

Anyway, I was also considering converting the 1994-1995 CART mod but never had the time to do so, I'm however busy with creating skin packs for the 1996 and 1997 CART seasons for the original rFactor version. If you release the 1994-1995 CART mod for F1 Challenge '99-'02 some day I might send you my 1996 and 1997 car skins for these models too so you can release those seasons for F1 Challenge '99-'02 as well if you want, let me know if you're interested. Smile
