F1 1989 Season (by Cherry, David M., Sky and BMCM3)
#1
F1 1989 Season V3.0 by Cherry, David Marques, Sky and BMCM3
***INSTALLATION INSTRUCCIONS AT THE BOTTOM***

Brief History
===============================================================================
BMCM3 had the idea of making a 1989 F1 Season and started the work on his own.
Later, Cherry began helping him with the models that were not already done for
F1C. In the end, Cherry created all of the models from scratch using the wheels
from the 91 Season V1. David M. fixed the wheels, helmets, pit crews, BKs,
driver performance and FPS issues which also existed in the 91 mod. Sky finally
came along and created accurate car physics and sounds for the season.

First off - Thank You! Having this kind of quality in F1C is awesome!

Thank you for sharing your work.

Is it possible to "tone down" the sparks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Again, Thank You.

Hi there!

After playing a full season of 1989, I'd like to report a little bug. Benetton no.20 driver's helmet (Emanuele Pirro's) shakes too much, even to the point of almost getting out of the cockpit and revealing the neck "unglued" to the head.

Also, you may know what a chaos is the Jacarepagua circuit .aiw file. A lot of cars don't brake enough when pitting in and they crash into the wall. I managed to fix it myself, but at the expense of reducing the number of teams supported to 12 and sharing three pitstop positions (not pit garages) between the three best and three worst teams. This method guaranteed the lowest chance of seeing two cars wanting to pit at the same spot (because mostly McLarens and Ferraris wouldn't pit at the same time as, say, Ligiers.) It's not perfect, but as a workaround it works fine, and you won't see any pit in crashes. If anyone wants to give it a try, I can share this semi-fixed .aiw file.

Send me your 1989 mod, and both Jacarepagua AIW's by PM. I'll try to fix. ;D

Here's a fix to Pirro's helmet: http://www.mediafire.com/?q74uyugpd62p3eq

Put it to the SeasonData->Vehicles->Benetton->1989_B189 folder.

@nuppiz
Thanks, man! It works nicely.

@Cristian Luis
PM with the chaotic .aiw sent. See if you can do magic with it.

Here is the first try. Reported problem has been fixed at my knowledge. It worked like a charm on the original F1C 1999 mod game (tested against thirty eight opponents.) No low framerate detected, even on swingman camera inside pits.

Also, I corrected difficulty details, general scenery and pit garage positions.

Pioneero, report me any problem, please. Maybe it doesn't work as expected with DavidMarques mods. If the file is correctly functional in 1989 mod and doesn't cause any critical problems to gameplay, it would work on all mods released by DavidMaques, because the 1989 Formula One Season is where there were most cars compiting (thirty nine).

Regards.

No luck. Cars that belong to the first six teams (in pit order) still crash when entering pits. Cars that belong to the first team (in pit order) just come to a full stop on the middle of the road (I suspect where the first waypoint that links the road to the pit entry is) and do not move. Also, cars now brake by no reason after crossing the finish line in the middle of the straight.

So... well, it means for me that the problem is the 1989 mod itself. The physics. Maybe the .HDV file. Maybe the .TBC file...

I need the 1989 mod for fix it

Edited post: Uch! The mod isn't available! >-<

New link on first post. I will be releasing V3.0 later this month. It will have upgraded helmets, drivers and cockpits. Also, I will fix the scale problem on most cars. They are currently too big.
