I found a link to your site at rFactor Central and thought I'd check you guys out, what a selection of stuff for rFactor! I've been a NASCAR guy most of my life, dabbled into open wheels a little bit, but now over the past year I've gotten totally hooked and since I have an old single core XP machine I'm limited to what I can run. I'm hoping you guys still support the platform because I have a question.



 I'm using the default trainer mod to learn tracks in different seasons of F1, most of those tracks are in track packs, i.e all the 1988's are in one folder, all the 2013's are in one, all the 1979's are in one and so on. My question is, why don't some of these show up as being able to race on in the default mod?

Welcome to Race4Sim forums. 

This is one of many F1C communities in activity. As for me, I am "active" in in Wookey's motor-racing history and simulation forum and being ethic with the stuff I do, optimize and share.

Feel free to post any question about F1C in the F1 Challenge '99-'02 section of this forum, but use the search function before doing that! Maybe your issue was solved by other user long ago.

With this, anyone of you can help to contribute to the F1C community and share your improvements (improved AIW's, circuits, release of add-ons, optimize stuff, etc.) You can even convert tracks and racing cars from other racing simulation platforms (mostly rFactor 1). For this last thing, please, never forget to ask for permission to their original authors.

Conversion policy:
As our hobby exists for a long time, there are a lot of work (cars, tracks, Mods...) that have been made by people who do no not care anymore to anwer for email requiring permissions to convert.

So the official Policy of this forum is :

1) Convert tracks for yourself (from Grand Prix Legends, rFactor, Asseto Corsa...) for private use, and test them thoroughly to debug until all errors are fixed. If you are stuck, feel free to ask for some help in this forum.

2) Include EVERYTHING you know about origin of the track in a readme.txt file. Take your time to investigate who is the original creator of the circuit. Respect the original work of other authors is a must. Don't pretend you build from scratch if it is not true.

3) Ask for permission to the author(s) is there is any e-mail available (or account in other forums like DrivingItalia, rFactorCentral, Sim Racing Mirror Zone, etc.)

4) Wait an answer for at least two weeks.

5) If answer is OK or there no answer, or no e-mail available: SHARE. When releasing the mod, car, track or trackpack, the title must include the name of its original author(s), not yours.

6) If authors complain, send him to me (FisicoF1): I'll retire if he prooves ownership. Also, an apology note to that content creator will be posted on this forum.

Is there any way to change the LOD and pop in distance? Other cars go down in detail when they're still so close and things pop in close too. Is there any way to change this for modern PCs

INSTALLATION

1) Backup and delete any other 1996 mods from F1C for this mod to work properly
2) Download and install the updated versions of the following default circuits:

Here are a few tracks which I have converted/upgraded over the years. From now on, some of these tracks will be needed and will have to be downloaded in order for my mods to work properly. Each of my mods' threads will indicate which circuits will be needed from this list. If a track indicates that it will replace the default circuits, I suggest you backup the track before installing this new version in case you want to revert back:

New Helicopter Textures
I've replaced the default F1C helicopter with a new one. You'll have to download the new helicopter textures and add them to your Vehicles\CMAPS.MAS file since some of my tracks will need them. If you want all tracks to use the new helicopter model, add the two MTS files into your Vehicles\CDB.MAS file

Hi everyone!

Is there any detailed tutorials for track (and car if possible) conversions from F1C to Rfactor 1?

I want to convert the four default F1C seasons and tracks to rFactor (most for fun) but after the Racesimulations and Orkut shutdown i didnt find nothing detailed about this.

Hey Guys,

I need some help in completing a few projects of mine, one being the 1996 F1 mod, the other a whole brand new Monaco, 88-16 variations, based on Carrera.4's rF version and much better than the default one. I need someone to help or explain how dynamic shadows work so that I can apply them when a car goes under trees, bridges or in the tunnel. Also, I need an AIW pro to resolve some issues. If anyone can help, please contact me via this thread or PM. This way, my work can be released for all to enjoy.
